The SRV8 was the successor to the M12 and the latest model of the American firm Vector before closing its doors due to financial and economic (He came to bankruptcy) in 1998.El SRV8 was unveiled in 1999 at the Salon de los Angeles (LA Motorshow ). A curious fact of the presentation was that Vector closed its doors a few days of submission.

At first glance, you can see the SRV8 is a cheaper version of the M12 and with low cost materials.PFor this Vector decided to facelift/restyling (carbon spoilers, redesign of entrances, replacing headlights for a more normal type , light alloy wheels 5-spoke 18-inch) and other minor changes. In the interior followed the same way as on the outside and some changes were the inclusion of an MP3 CD audio system, bacquet red seats and the inclusion of passenger airbag, etc

About the technical aspect Vector decided to replace the Lamborghini V12 engine of a Chevrolet V8 engine used in the Corvette C5 but increasing the power to 480 HP and all powered by a gearbox 6-speed sequential tranxale original Porsche / Vector. The features of this car was never revealed but sources said that the SRV8 reaches 335 km / h (209 mph) and accelerates from 0-100 km / h (o´60 mph)in 5.5 sec.

Technic Features:

Carbon monocoque
GT1 Chevrolet V8 engine with 480 HP 5L
330 KM / H (209 mph) 5 sec
Porsche Gearbox / Vector tranxale 6-speed

  • Please can you tell me the name of the song that's in the video?

  • Quite a nice car.. Never heard of it :)

  • This looks like Vector was going to mature into a regular, if very low volume production, car maker. Except the side scoops (they look like they are trying too hard to be cool) I like it. Otherwise, this would have been a really clean and sexy design.

  • cool car! i love it

  • Hi, it's DigitalLuke64DD.

Where did you find these pictures? They're great quality!

  • What a cool car!

  • I remember when this car was hidden in a little shop in Orange Park , Florida. I was called to help with getting it ready for the Auto Show, but had to stop becauseihad to head out of town on business. The DrameFaulkner V12 engine sitting in the corner of the shop was definitely impressive. Sorry the company did not work out..
