The two main political parties in Bangladesh say they will boycott December's general elections if corruption charges against their leaders are not dropped.
Supporters of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have also condemned the Electoral Commission's decision to ban religious-based parties from running in the elections.
Al Jazeera's Nicholas Haque reports.
The Jamaat group is hypocritcal, they say its haram for women to be leaders yet they side with the BNP and make Khalida the leader.

Women in parliament would defo be against Islamic law. I live in a state in America that India would know as Patel town. I know many muslims and Punjabis and Hindus. If Islam could have its way and lead according to the qur'an than you those women in parliament are gone.

just not attending actively in a crowd or not noticing women in a single video clip does not illustrate the whole concept of the religion or tradition. and for your kind information, bangladesh is one of the most populous countries in the world, thus one of the major democratic countries. and both leader of the major political parties are woman, and they are serving the roles as the prime minister and the opposition leader from over a decade..

How come there are no woman in the crowd? What kind of religion would not let women participate in their own country? It is almost 2009. Scary tbh.

Who should Bangladesh elect? This is a very difficult task. Whoever will be running I know they will surely make Bangladesh in the corruption list yet again. I don't trust anyone in the parliament. I hope students who are stuyding abroad comes back to bangladesh and try to do something for their country, they have better experiences and knowledge about other countries, instead of settling down abroad for their own comfort they should go to bd and help out the people and the country.

Say what you feel bro (not in every country though) ... Muslims are not terrorist but these groups use Islam for terrorism and hatred ...
Bengalis are not haters; Bengalis are naturally tolerant and friendly and welcoming people...
