I use this for my 1000HE - the fan usually only runs at 20% or so anyways. After overclocking my 1.66 to 1.8 the fan only ran at 30 - 40%

Is it safe/even possible to overclock an acer aspire one to 2.0GHz at all? I don't want anything broken.

that is very very unlikly. the cpu wont "explode" and blow a hole.
but more liklely you burned out your cpu.
don't spread shit 'bout computers blowing up. this ain't a hollywood movie. there's absolutely no fracking chance to blow shit up in the computer... or perhaps a capacitor blew. but it would only "pop" and smell like rotten fish.

warning do not owerclock procesors that under 2,0 GHz if i tryed to overclock my amd athlon 1,3GHZ to 1,8 i blowed a hol in my case and motherboard it wasnt cheap to repair !!!

sure, I'm now running Vista with an over-clocked EEEPC at 1.2GHz. Nothing goes wrong
