i like to see everyone here actually seems to understand the issue of the higher power limiting our availability of our given rights (to bear arms) and that gives me hope

ALERT >>> NEW BILL H.R. 2159 would allow the Attorney General to deny firearms to anyone who is "suspected of," or "potentially", a terrorist! No criminal act or criminal conviction required!
Even worse, the Bill stipulates that information about why anyone is denied shall be withheld from that person if they sue in court to assert their right to bear arms! They can prevent you from owning an gun and not tell you why!

Suppose that weren't true.
Suppose gun crime problem in the US were 100 times worse than it actually is and legitimate use were 100 times less. Would an infringement of our Constitutional imperative still be the government's right? Of course not. Why? Because its never been the responsibility of the government to ensure your personal safety. (SCOTUS: Warren v. DC)
Don't kick statistics around. You don't need to. Rights don't have to be defended with numbers.

According to the department of human resources you are 100 times more like to be killed by your doctor than a handgun. That is the truth. dems feed on fear and crisis, global warming crisis, energy crisis, gun crisis, everything is a crisis to scare people into submission. Stop and think and look up facts.

I agree with ctedone about why were buying guns and ammo. I also agree that the medi is useing scare tactics to try to push there anti second amendment agenda.

CBS=more scare tactics. Of course they show people with fully automatic weapons to pump up the fear factor.
In addition, they only noted Obama's election as a secondary reason gun sales have soared. It is THE reason. He is very anti-gun. Wants to ban semi-autos, tax the hell out of ammo, has supported an outright ban on handguns in the past. The economy was bad months earlier, and no Rush on guns. Obama is elected in November, sales went way up. Hm, which factor would you guess caused it?

If someone (or several people) break into your home, would you rather have a phone in your hand or a firearm?
-
I agree with you 100% Tasadaru.
The number is more like 1 billion guns in the U.S. Most owners have at least 5 to 10 guns. The government needs to stay away from honest citizens.

Notice how they put this story immediately after a story about some gangbanger killing somebody? What a joke. Anyways, stock up, not for riots but to protect the republic from the internal terrorists.
