UPDATE - Someone uplodaded a cleaner version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjvWulMsxSs

I know some people have been looking for this since it was in No Direction Home. Joan Baez - from her first album, Folksingers 'Round Harvard Square (1959).

This is the best I could get it to sound - it's this crackly on the original recording.

  • So incredibly heartfelt, loving, pure, and beautiful, it tears with unrelenting gentleness deep into my heart! Joan is a miracle, a gift, with the voice and heart and spirit of an angel!

  • man, i'll tell you what, this is so damm beautiful and honest and pure, it almost makes me want to plan a massacre at the next MTV "awards"

obviously i won't lol, just make that clear before the FBI and british secret service start checking up on me =P

  • ...thanks for this post....with passing time, it's increasingly difficult to remember the breathtaking purity of her voice when she was a girl....

  • deep appreciations.

  • Thanks for posting a full recording of Joan singing this song!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! <3

  • its so hypnotic. it just draws you in

  • thanks, id been looking for this song since i saw no direction home. she'll always impress with how good she plays guitar.

  • This was the first Joan Baez song I recall hearing....probably on Chicago's WFMT "Midnight Special", broadcast every Saturday night. At the time I was going to the U. of Chicago on the Korean GI Bill. It was a great time for folk music in Chicago!

  • love it, and I'm old enough to appreciate the crackles!

  • THANK YOU. The No Direction Home version was all I had to listen to for the longest time. Now I have it in full, even though it isn't entirely the same , lyrically.

  • A perfect example of the best from the Folk era. Simple instruments, simple tunes, ALL HEART.
