Gosh, you could have completed a painting in the time it took to set up your pallet. I am sorry ,but I would have lost all interest in my painting if I had to go through all that pre-mixing everytime.

Actually you save time by premixing. Any time spent mixing in the beggining is more time spent painting later.

just love your work. Iam a big fan .Heres a question for you...............can those results be got by using student quality paint? Also can you suggest any exercise for me to do to understand Value............cant seem to grasp it. thanks a mill LG.

I do enjoy seeing the palette laid out in advance, it's true. I agree that almost everything here will need to be altered in some way, but they are often 80% true, and each mixture is an excellent starting point. In addition, this is a mental exercise akin to doing a value study and I find that preparation to be very helpful. This was only a second day mixture - on 3rd or final days, I'll have 11+ values for each. I like to think of this palette as "interpretive." Thanks for your comment!
