@newflyermaniac I also have a problem with it being called a trolley. Because when searching for its outbound schedule on the SEPTA website, I was unable to find it under the trolley category, nor was it under regional rail. It took me a good 5 minutes to notice it was under its own category and I did not recognize the name, as they did away with the R100 designation. I'm supposing they made that change around the same time they removed the R designations for all the regional rail lines.
The Norristown line is an electric interurban line. it runs on a 3rd rail, not overhead wire. The Lehigh Valley cars, which were trolleys also ran on this line at one time. They switched to overhead wire at Norristown. The Strafford division of the P&W also had overhead wire.
No, the line is not really a trolley since there is no overhead wire. It is an electric interurban line, but no one knows what an interurban is any more.
um, I have a major issue with people calling this line a trolley. it is a high speed line, hence a train and not a trolley. a trolley is by definition a street car that operates in traffi along side with automobiles. it also has a pole. nhsl operates by third rail, has its own railroad. so it is not a trolley by a long shot.
THAT LADY IN THE BACK IS AAAAAANNNNNNOOOOOOYING!!!!!
