  • Was intrigued by this movie purely cos of the cast: Seth Rogan, Adam Sandler, etc and being directed by Judd Apatow, I always had in my mind it would be a comedy of some sort. But given the fact it is about a man who gets told one minute he's going to die then the next he is going to live, you can tell it's clearly more than a comedy. Excellent review, but I might give it a miss and wait for the DVD :)

  • Yes, I'd say check out the DVD. There are worthwhile things in this movie.... But it's long, so at least on video you can go to the loo.

  • Yes, I've been wanting to see those - will try!!

  • Bought it.

  • Good review and a very good movie I agree. One of the best of the year for me.

  • Agreed. It's the whole "dark side" thing! I can think of lots of examples.... Here's a random one: Jack Black in 'Margot at the Wedding'.

  • I think comics make good actors often times as well; for example, the first movie I remember seeing Robin Williams in as a "serious" actor was "Moscow On The Hudson" after the "Mork & Mindy" series on TV. I thought he was very believable and had so much more range in his acting abilities than I would have ever supposed before. He also was very good in "The Fisher King", a movie called "Night Listener" or something like that & others like the Al Pacino "Insomnia" movie, Awakenings, JacobTheLiar

  • Great review :) I was going to approve your video response but it disappeared on my box :(

  • Nice review "gab&dad" :)

And thanks for the advice haha

  • Me, being a big Eminem fan, really enjoyed Marshall and Ray Romano's scene in the movie. That MADE it for me.

  • I didn't think this movies was a typical "comedy". Interesting that you enjoyed it, the reviews have been mixed however perhaps these reviewers are expecting a comedy.

On another note, the other comedy in theatres right now is "The Ugly Truth"... absolutely atrocious. It was horribly skewed and offensive. I won't be making a vlog review as I refuse to give it any more press than it has already received.

I have found that phallic humour has been rather popular lately, I personally am over it!
