It runs on a Dell XPS 1330 Laptop with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
It also worked quite good with my former laptop Acer TM 660.
Gentoo is compiled from source and achieves a much better performance than precompiled distributions ;-)

What machine does it take to run this speed? My old one surely won't do, it's near 5 years old, and am going to build an upgrade soon. What is yours made of?
