The Legendary George "Shorty" Snowden and his Parter Big Bea in 1937. He was a first Generation Lindy Hopper first captured on film in the 1920's in the short "After Seben".
Shorty George is not only credited for giving the dance it's name "The Lindy Hop" but also the name in which the Jazz vernacular step "the shorty george" came from.

  • @MrCheeko50: She was like 6'2'', and Shorty was 5'2''. And not a bitch.

  • Yea nice! that is how swing is done, wild but stiff. not the sissy ballroom dance done in unmodest skintight dresses and flimsy sandels.

This is the stuff that the legends are made of, and the way swing was ment to be.

  • @RhythmJunkie I received it from someone else. Just type in Shorty George Snowden and press search. Try it on youtube or do a general search on google.

  • It was George that was once asked what the dance was that he was doing. Since Lindbergh had just hop the Atlantic in the first successful solo flight George named it The Lindy Hop. This is evidently in a news short of the Harvest Ball of 1929. I guess the Shorty George was named after him.

  • This is the man who coin the name Lindy Hop

  • Big Bea Lindy Hoppin all over Shorty George!!

  • Wow, how tall is the woman?
