I saw Robert Gambill in the Scala production (directed by Patrice Chereau). He was singing instead of Ian Storey. I don't know if he is "strong" enough or he was in a bad night, but his voice could hardly be heard. He was almost booed in the final curtain call... :/

On the other hand we were fortunate that Waltraute was in her usual top, as well as an excellent Matti Salminen - Konig Marke.

certes la mise est moderne mais je ne trouve pas qu'elle trahit l'oeuvre. Dans ces conditions je dit OUI à la modernité. Quand au Tristan je le trouve fort bon.
