The naive teens who overthrew the shah have been slapping themselves in the face for 3 decades for making such a grave mistake. They overthrew a somewhat corrupt regime who killed a few, replacing him with a deeply corrupt regime that has slaughtered 10s of 1000s of innocent Iranians, whose only crime was having different political or religious views. Well.....hindsight, not present-sight, is 20/20
