A tribute video for T. E. Lawrence and his love for Selim Ahmed, "Dahoum", the young man who Lawrence trained to be his photographic assistant, and who helped Lawrence in learning the Arabic language. Lawrence's novel, "Seven Pillars of Wisdom", was dedicated to Dahoum. The full dedication can be found in this video, half in audio, the last half written at the end.

Clips were taken from the movie "Lawrence of Arabia", "The English Patient", and PBS's "Lawrence of Arabia - The Battle for the Arab World".

The song used is 'Roses' by Poets of the Fall.

I own nothing ;P Lawrence is just awesome and slash is inherent in his story. Now if all that doesn't call for making a tribute mv, dunno what does XD

Thanks to RavynneRune, for like, everything, mehr ;P

  • So many of the clips used in this video are clearly from the movie with Peter O'Toole, but I also see some clips that I don't recognize...where are these other ones from? Beautiful video!

  • @sailawaycez

thank you so much! :3 most of the other clips were taken from a documentary called 'Lawrence of Arabia - The Battle for the Arab World' which was produced by PBS. Also a clip or two was taken from 'The English Patient'. I believe the pictures of Lawrence and Dahoum/Selim i found online.

    Thank you! <3

  • @sailawaycez I think this is a made up British version; made for TV, called- A very dangerous man;designed to make TEL look like a queen. They, like so many others, have taken the words of his book out of contex- used to describe his non physical affection for a close friend, and tried to transform it into some kind of gay sex idea. All honest research in the matter of TEL and sex clearly indicates that he was never gay; and that he simply was Asexual and didn't like being touched.Strange/not queer

  • @TheHauptsturmfuhrer

Actually the clips came from the original Lawrence of Arabia film and a documentary about T.E. Lawrence that came w/acting and film, a bonus of creative effort, I suppose. As for some 'out of context gay sex ideas' have you seen your avatar of the huge manbear? The pot calling the kettle black, I see... ;)

  • Magpie the seven pillars of windom is nonfiction-biography not a novel.

The character mentioned the young man Selim Ahmed, was in Syria at the Carchmech archeological site, That was before the war and the events in the film Lawrence of Arabia.

Early in this video he gets mugged. That did happen at that time.

Lawrence was "strange', strangly courageous and heroic. Why are people obsessed with his sexuality? He is one of the great war heroes of the 20th century.

  • @shire2005

I'm not obsessed with his sexuality, I do however honor it. If Selim were a woman in this video would you have found this strange and commented? Probably not. And as for a bit of loose word usage: novel, biography, same difference. Think of this video as a tribute to a part of a great man. If you find it unsatisfactory, I encourage you to make your own video tribute and I'll be more than glad to watch it.

  • @TheHauptsturmfuhrer well, greeks who made naked sculptures were homosexuals and they were proud to have boy lover. they used to saw women inferior. yes, people who made naked man sculptures were faggots.

  • @Igotangry If naked sculpture are made by queers, the all the Greeks,Romans and most Europeans are butt fuckers too-ridiculous.Well documented evidence - men who actually rode with Lawrence for years.Others who independently knew him since birth, three full time biographers who studied his every move-all indicate very clearly that he was NOT a homosexual, but was in fact -Asexual & hated to be touched in any way;but that he did unfortunately like to be whipped;after he came back from the Mid East.

  • @TheHauptsturmfuhrer look at wikipedia dahoum title and see the naked body sculpture of dahoum's faggot lawrence did and exhibit outside house in syria. yes, there are real evidence he is a faggot gay.

  • There really never was any real evidence that TEL was gay.7 Pillars mentions acts but never suggest that TEL participated. His biographer & brother both say he wasn't & the movie doesn't remotely represent who he was-as wonderful as it was.TEL is best left, and will always be know as, the original man remembered as a riddle wrapped in a enigma;& after reading 7 Pillars twice,I think he would have liked it that way.The more we try to learn; the less we really know.I'd like the same myself someday.
