Iran produced High-Tech Medicines to treat of cancer, asthma & bone diseases

Iran has produced six new high tech drugs to treat different types of cancer, asthma and bone diseases.

The aim, according to the Iranian President, is to meet the challenges posed by rapidly rising imports of anti-cancer drugs, and attain self-sufficiency in the production of strategic medicines.

Speaking to Press TV, Iran's Health Minister said her ministry put its reputation on the line to produce the new drugs, maintain spending, keep care integrated and remain committed to the national part of the health service.

On the production of life-saving radioisotopes, the health minister said Iran produces seven types of radioisotopes, and plans to export anti-cancer products in the near future.

She said the ministry plans to act globally in order to promote and protect the health of Iranian consumers, through partnership and joint ventures with international firms.

Iranian health ministry officials say trials show that the new drugs could prolong survival with the best results, almost twice the level in those receiving standard treatment.
