I am one of the lucky ones. I truly did have a great, good mother. She died two years after this song came out. I remember I was at school in Montreal when she died. It was raining and I was walking down Sherbrooke Street. I couldn't stop crying. I heard this song playing somewhere and thought, "OK. Let's keep your voice in my head. Let's keep your voice in my head for as long as I can so that I can have the strength to do all the things she would've wanted me to do."

I also post this for my mom every year...she is why I'm a good mother, because in spite of life and all the things it throws our way, my mom showed me how to just be myself and face it with the same strength she did...I've got a good mother, and her strength is what keeps me here.

I am also one of the lucky ones. I have a good, great mother. She faced a lot of difficulty as me and my sisters grew up and it is because of her strength and will that we are the women we are today. My sister even has a child of her own.
