@pokemon17007 With short pimples the ball has no spin or less spin when you serve it the way he does. It's not that hard to return it especially if you serve it to a strong looper. The advantage of that serve is to get your oponent off guard because of the fast no spin or less spin serve.
Lui Gouliang has the most amazing serve back then using a TSP Spin Pips. They banned this pips a few years later. TSP Spin Pips is still available but not the original Lui Gouliang uses.
