This footage was filmed by me, (Joseph Ametrano) at 10 years of age using a Bell and Howell super 8 camera. The location is Main St Farmingdale, NY.

My stepfather (James Shannon) was a dispatcher active in the Farmingdale fire dept for most of his life. My uncle (Joseph Benevento) was a fire chief for Farmingdale fire dept for many years as well, sadly he passed away only two years earlier in his 40's August 1967...

The thing I remember the most on this day was the weather. Hazy, hot, and humid day with temps well over 100°F.
