This video—Understanding an MRI of the Normal Thoracic Spine—is designed for the primary care physician or specialist, such as a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist, to use in understanding the MRI of the normal thoracic spine. The imaging shown in the video is of a normal scan-that is all the structures scanned are normal in appearance and not injured or degenerative. When you can recognize what normal looks like, you can determine what an abnormal finding is. Please keep in mind—you will not become a musculoskeletal radiologist and be able to identify a thoracic aortic aneurysm by reviewing this video. It is designed to give you a basic understanding of the anatomy of the thoracic spine and then to identify the basic changes that occur with degenerative disc disease, herniated discs and spinal stenosis.

  • These videos are great. Where I'm from, most doctors are so bad that if you just watch these videos you probably know more than they do. Thanks!

  • good luck getting this done. They never consider this section. I believe thats whats wrong with my back. I get pains on my neck, but more so in-between my scapula and back and shoulder. FIRST thing they did was an mri of my cervical spine. Why not just do both w/shoulder all at one time--it could be any of these.

  • if i have slight discomfort around the middle of my thorasic region, which i can feel usually but when i push on the spot it hurts, what do you think i could have done to it, ive never had back injuries before becuase i take care of my technic with sport and weights, so this injury is new to me

  • wow.

    thanks for this.

  • Excellent! thank you spool
