Look at what Bobby Darin did with the throwaway Mack The Knife original from the German/ Kurt Weill and Threepenny Opera!.......not to mention what Darin did with the French failure, La Mer.......Beyond the Sea. Great performers find and re-create old songs. Its as old as the hills.!

Not really bad, the musicians are obviously very good. But it does not give the right tone to this song.
PPM is better and Pete Seeger moste often too.

To "wemonk"--- This arrangement and presentation was Trini's hit!! Yes someone else wrote it and others performed it but so what? That does not diminish in any way Trini's presentation of it does it?
What he does with this song is a TRIUMPH! Look at the fun the folks are having!!

The presentation is fine, a real toe tapper. ... but it's not "his hit." It's Pete Seeger's hit.
