There is an Italian restruant in my town that has a simple book shelf in the corner... where anyone can bring a book to leave on the shelf and take a book. Great idea!
That's a fine thought, but if that book happens to be something like "MS-DOS for Dummies" or countless other outdated books about tech, it's often hard to even give them away; it just becomes someone else's problem. The real tip for this subject is to get an e-reader and buy mostly "ebooks" going forward. I think Amazon's Kindle (the app or device) is best, because you can buy an ebook once and read it on any of the supported devices (including most smartphones, iPads, and full computers).
