Lofty Pines Motel - The Tragically Hip
Wetlands, New York, New York 7-23-1998
Loft Pines was released on Gordon Downie's first solo record Coke Machine Glow in 2001.
The lyrics have been around for several years before this, and on this night when The Hip had an unscheduled interruption in their set - to kill the silence - the guys jammed and Gord sang this song.
Hey there-
I have this show on CD along with the 9:30 Club. Contact me.

Wow. I had no idea the Hip even attempted this song as a collective. Good track on CMG, but it really provides credence to the two solo projects Gord did... While being bluesy, rockin', minute two-tone psyhcadelic perfectionists of Canadian rock, the spoken-word jazz swing ain't their thing...

I wasn't at these shows, but I'm watching it from home (obviously) and it feels like a am right there. Wow, this has a type of Tragically Hip "moment in history" feel, the Doors seem to be ringing a bell.

I was at these shows - introduced my cousin to you guys and he was at your show last night. Back then, I just finished uni and drove down to NYC for these shows - amazing...if you have other clips, as I'm sure you do, please, please post...or maybe from the 9:30 club, or, or...
Nice memories...Cheers!
