In April of 1192, renown French politician and de facto King of Jerusalem, Conrad of Montferrat, was killed; murdered by the infamous and deadly Hashshashin. But who was behind the scenes, pulling the strings of this orchestrated attack? As far as history is concerned, the identity of the murderer will never be discovered. The case involves a number of suspects with a number of motives -- yet no clear lines connecting any one of them to the murder. So the question remains, after almost one thousand years: Who killed Conrad de Montferrat?

  • Where is any evidence for Conrad not agreeing with Richard killing prisoners at Acre (which was not a "policy" but more of a one-off event done so that the crusade could progress)?

In regards to Henry not accepting the title of King , this was arguably the most correct thing to do and was what the first "King" of Jerusalem, Godfrey of Boullion chose to do when it was first taken by the Crusaders in 1099, believing no mortal could be a king in Jerusalem as it was God's land...

If you want me to cite my sources for you I will, I did research for two months and these are the conclusions I came up with. If you don't like it, move on or get over it.
