this film seems to portray alienation from the materialistic present. the woman is in alianation with the world and people around her. she is searching for a happyness for a smile from her deep inside. this an experience of the postmodern. lack of spiritual belonging and lack of identity. this can be repaired by a spretuality in the person and her life.

you are still in your former fault, you want to dramatize a alienation,but what is this alienation?is that kind of alienation in reflective system of marx or is that kind of existentialism alienation?any way you need to turn this kind of alienation to plot,story,drama,and then all the judjment will be based on the (work)not your thought or whatever out of the work,,it is sign and object that shapes the concept,the wrong sign(taxi) is unable to be a signifier for (alienation).

Nice little short. I like the cinematography. You're use of the telephoto lens is used really well which shows the girl's alienation and confusion. It reminds me of a Japanese I saw in Gustavo's DP class around a year ago. I'd work on the titles. They seem a little hackneyed and out of sync with the movie as a whole.

it's not about realism, I hate to comment on my own film, i don't want to skew people's take on it, but to me it wasn't important as to where she has been or where she is going. She represents alienation, unable to interact with anyone, driven by a single purpose to experience something that so many people take for granted.
