From The Documentary American Gangs. The History of the So-Called Zoot Suit Riots, and the begaining of the Mexican American Gangs in California. I posted this video to give the viewer a brief history of the Mexican American experience in 1940's Los Angeles. During this period in history, Blacks and Mexican Americans were Allies with eachother in the struggle against discrimination and racism. If you read history books that mention the Zoot Suit Riots; they tell stories of Blacks helping and protecting the Mexican Americans along Central Avenue during the Zoot Suit Riot. History has always shown that rivalries between former allies, usually are the result of outside factors, e.g. Co-Intel-Pro. ect.
