On March 21, 2009 a fire broke out on 125 Prospect Street. The original call summoned Engine 1, 2, 4, Tower 1 and Support 1 to the scene. Within a few minutes, the Deputy Chief requested a second alarm, bringing Engine 3 to the scene. Service 1 later arrived with extra air bottles. Since this was an extended incident, the next platoon of firefighters arrived at their respective stations and covered them using the reserve apparatus. Also, some of the next platoon came to relieve on-scene firefighters using Engine 6, Engine 7, and Tower 2. Despite them being on scene, E6, E7, and T2 were not part of the fire suppression operations. No injuries were reported as a result of this fire, although, Ambulance 17-6 stood by on scene.
