Two English tunes known from and made popular by one of the greatest English morris sides - the Britannia Coconut Dancers, Here are two of the tunes Tip Top Hornpipe and Tip Top Polka, played in a lively style on Castagnari DG Melodeons by me and my mate Jimbo.... enjoy!

  • is this in CF or DG or what???

  • @krazykai100 Straight DG ..no accidentals!

  • suddenly I'm very interest in playing :)

would you say this kind of melodeon is easier to learn/play than a piano accordion?

  • I do! .. I started with an accordion for less than 1 year ... wanted more Rhythm and less weight!!.... Melodeon was easy! ... got going well on it (with a bit of obsession) in 6 months!

  • Absolutely marvellous box-playing, and great to see young cool-dudes carrying on important folk heritage and havin' the CRAIC ( crack ) also, you would be welcome at any trad. session in ireland also, Phil B in Dublin.

  • Cheers mate ... be nice to come over too!

  • Rock on boys! Enjoyed that very much!

  • This is Awesome !!!! You guys are great together. Just bought my first one row melodeon, and can't a thing with it. I'm so envious

  • Pity you can't spot the tune for the ornamentation..... Too many notes chaps.

  • That is fast finger work! Impressive!

  • @DerekTheNutter great playing mate! for getting started on the melodeon, would you recommend going for a one-row or two-row? I'm a mandolinist, and all of those buttons intimidate me a bit :/ so do you think the benefit of a two-row being more versatile is outweighed by it's difficulty to learn compared to a one-row?

  • nice accordions. Castagnaries... very good playing.

  • Fantastic playing. I'm about to buy my first D/G melodeon and seeing young(ish) guys playing so well and obviously enjoying it is a real inspiration.

  • Very good rythmique ! It's a pleasur to listen you !
