I visited China recently and I travelled by train from Beijing to Shenyang in one of the new bullet trains. The interior was beautifull and the seats were very comfortable. Even when the train was travelling at 250 Kmh, I was able to sleep soundly. I also took a train ride from Beijing to Tianjin and it took only half an hour with a top speed of 350 Kmh.
On the whole, the trains leave on time and it is value for money. The Return-fare to Sheyang was $76/- (780 Km) and to Tianjin it was $16/-

I travelled in the Beijing-Tianjin express train last year! Wow is amazing!
