@mytuber81 FoxNews has the constitutional right to cover whatever it wants and in whatever way it wants. But is it ethical for them to claim they are fair and balanced? The media's coverage of news has real consequences for people in this country. FoxNews is not the only culprit but their rhetoric has been the most racist and propagandistic of any network. You think it's a coincidence how hate crimes against Latinos and Muslims have increased?

All studies show that Latinos are not any more likely to commit crimes than the rest of the population and that US-born Hispanics are for the most part English dominant. Yet right wing personalities like Bill O'reily, Glenn Beck, and Lou Dobbs have made Americans believe that Latinos are here to kill, rape, and rob them while at the same time refusing to assimilate. Now it's muslims.

@mytuber81 2) later investigations concluded that totally misrepresented Acorn. By that time, the damage to acorn was already done. What about the lady who was fired from the Dep of Agriculture after a conservative blogger leaked another edited video that made her sound like a racist. The media (FoxNews and other channels that are suppose to be liberal) ran with the video without verifying its source. Result = lady gets fired unjustly.

@mytuber81 I meant exactly what I wrote. Most Americans do rely on the media for information. That is what I said and then gave an example of one media personality who exerts a lot of influence on public opinion. Where in my comment did I say that most Americans believe what Glenn Beck says? Show me.

FoxNews used its airtime to give coverage to the supposed "pimp and hoe" who went undercover to investigate acorn, produced a highly edited documentary that . . .

@mytuber81 Most Americans don't believe every word Glenn Beck says (I never said that in my comment) but a very dangerous minority does. The media, just like every other area of society dominated by highly educated people is liberal or left of center. Yet, no mainstream news channel manipulates information to the extent that FoxNews those, all while claiming they are FAIR and BALANCED. The Acorn controversy is a prime example.

@samot8728 I agree that a lot of Americans don't understand what a lot of the bills that go through congress are. I dont agree that most Americans believe every word Glenn Beck says. You are directing your comment towards conservatives, but you fail to address the fact that most of the main stream media is left of center.

@mytuber81 99% of Americans don't read the bills that are going through congress. In fact most Americans probably lack the educational level to even understand what these bills say. Most Americans rely on the media for all of their political information. If Glenn Beck says it, it must be so.
