@Desertjxj But British tune...

This is the version I associate with Dan Gellert's playing. Is there a transcription of this around? There are several bits especially that kick-off lick I'm having a hard time figuring out and it's not for lack of a good example. :)

Thanks, this really takes me back. My parents were in a civil war band when I was little so I literally grew up on this sort of sound (im 26 now). Good show.

GREAT STUFF! Does steve have his fiddle tied around his neck? I have wrist problems & must try that. I love that old-time pickin Joe does. Sacrilege alert: some days I never care if I ever hear clawhammer again.

Thanks Gailg64... Glad you like it. This is Steve and yes, I'm using a homemade strap to hold up the fiddle... Just hate trying to hold the darned thing up with my neck... I know, I'm weird. Loved your sacrilege remark... I like clawhammered banjo, but it does seem like it gets to be almost a religion sometimes in old time... fingerpicked is also really nice... Joe does both, but perhaps favors the fingerpicked a little more still. thanks for the comment.
