I believe that it is quite legal to run the heater on red diesel. It's a good bit cheaper than DERV, especially just now. A friend has one in his Pinzgauer.

An interesting video. I'm proposing to have one of these in my next vehicle, a panel van 'adaptation' - not a conventional campervan, so it's interesting to see what's involved and how it may fit in with my ideas.
Roughly how long does it take to fit one, assuming no complications?
