That is quite amazing and the stepped bass rows make a lot of sense. Thank you for the demonstration.

Grøthe's system is such a minor modification and so obviously superior it should be standard on all accordions.

this was very good! I have developed some ways of using the thumb on the 2nd and 3rd rows in a normal freebass system, but I cannot help but think that a keyboard like this would be easier. Does your instrument still have stradella / standard bass and is it much different from normal, because of the step keyboard?

@michael1bridge1music Yes, it has stradella bass and normal convertor. It is all similar to other instruments, except the adding of steps. (You feel a little difference when you play the stradella bass, but not very much. I also you the thumb here some times, especially on the dimished chords, and on special distances between chords and bass.)
You may, as you write, in a certain grade play with the thumb also without the steps, but it is very much easier with the steps.

is there any chance to get such an instrument for under 2000 euro ???? :)

@ebach1 Instruments with the steps in the bass are made in different sizes and price categories. There are also 2nd hand instruments on the marked, mostly in Norway. (But of course, the price of the instrument used on the video is much higher than 2000 Euro.)
