2005 V6 Mustang vs. Jetta GTI

So far this is one of my best times w/ just a dual magnaflow from cats, bbk throttle body, k&in airintake, and superchip. respnsive times are now a consist .22 to .23 off the line. my time this run was a 14.54, if u own a V6 u would know this isnt easy to do considerin the stock time is 15.8sec for a 3400lb car and is 2cyl shorter!

its still good for the design of the engine, somthing that needs to be taken into consideration, for if that engine was built like how your VR6 was built ( ie. not a purshrod design, and multiple valves) it would make much greater power. as we can see in the newer 2011 mustangs. scrap the old design and replace with modern technology...and that 4l engine is pumpin' 300hp

@CemetaryGatesML You're way off dude, the 2003 v6 mustang has 193 horse power stock, and 220 ft lbs of torque. Look it up. So with the mods it had, its prolly more like 210-220 hp where mine has about 200. My car isn't much lighter than the v6 stang, I've read a few different places that the curb weight is ~3120 for the stang, and my car is about 3,050, so that 70 lb difference is insignificant.

with a car that has an easy 30-60 hp advatage and a weight advatage...and tighter gear ratios. and you say you smoked him? no you out drove the other guy, because these cars are about equal.

and no, the HP OUTPUT is not pathetic, its an old reliable engine design, N/A pushrod design. and your saying compairing apple to oranges? its a completly difrent engine design then your VR6.

@CemetaryGatesML Actually it was a 2003 v6 stang to be exact. So lets not go comparing apples to oranges here and throw in a gt, which that year still doesnt impress me. Im not saying stangs suck, Im just saying all up until recent they were kinda pathetic in the hp they put out for the motor size. Whether you want to believe it or not I smoked that v6 mustang. From a dig from a roll it didnt matter. Im not saying my car is fast just quicker than a v6 stang even with a few mods.

naa u probably ran with the slower ones, funny tho. when i look up 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of both a GTI or VR6 and V6 Mustang of similar years, guess whats faster...not the GTi or VR6 hahahaha.

Did I mention I spanked the ever living shit out of him? As in he didn't stand a chance? So I guess you're right, ANY mustang, V6 or V8 could beat any GTI. that is not a real GTI (it is a Golf, not a jetta) i think its just the golf with 150 hp. the golf like i know it from here in germany has 210 hp and is much faster than the mustang!
