Belzer doesn't look so good in this video. I agree with him that what Dave did was stupid. Stupid. Feeling sorry for his family. What an awful thing to find out about your husband, brother, son, father. He will survive the damage to his public image. But I don't know if his private life is salvageable.
[3] Don't you just love Belzer's ass kissing of David Letterman as he starts his little homily to Saint David? Belzer goes, "I can't think of a more intelligent more dignified way to handle something like this." Really? "Intelligent" & "dignified" was how Letterman handled this image-destroying situation? What about simply keeping it private and not making it part of the show as he did? Was that intelligent & dignified? How about he brings the women out on stage so we can meet them as well? Hmm?
[2] Then he goes into all the sordid details. What a jerk! He should've kept something like this private. It's really not the public's right to know everything -- especially what anyone does in their private life! At least this used to be the case before the "confess all your sins in public" age that we live in today. All modesty and decorum have vanished! Now, nothing private is kept private anymore. Now, nothing shocks us anymore. All becomes permissible when shame is made moot. Disgusting!
[1] David Letterman is a true a**hole IMO for how he handled the situation. I don't care too much about the affairs - that's between him & the women he had sex with. What irks the hell out of me is the cavalier approach he demonstrated, breaking the news on his show like that, as if he was some kind of hero. Like really, WTF?! He started by saying to the audience, "I have a story to tell you. You wanna hear it?" then proceeds as if it was going to be somethng light & funny he was going to share.
