  • Thought the law was if the item is stolen the pawn shop is out of luck. They have to surrender the item. They'd have to get their money back for the thief, not the victum.

  • Should be called Biggest crooks pawn shop

  • That is the biggest lie ever!!!

  • And the reason they don't have to pay you squat is because a thief has no legal basis in the transfer of ownership that occurs in the transaction in which you purchased the stolen item. IE he can't give you the right to ownership when he stole it. Meaning, it's still the OWNER's item and you are not entitled to any money, because the OWNER did not agree to any transfer of ownership in that transaction. Jeez brother, learn the law.

  • A victim of robbery is not required to pay you squat. Learn the law before you claim to be an expert. If an item is stolen, it is taken into evidence by the police and later returned to the owner.

  • My camera was stolen and the police found it at a pawn shop. I had to pay the pawn ticket to get it back. You could beat it in court but the cop told me it was best to pay or the pawn shops will stop reporting stolen items.

  • I fought the law and the law won.

  • why the hell do a person hav to pay to get there stuff if it was stolen in thre first place

  • I get why he wants you to do it this way, but if one of those item reports is sent in and it shows up in a stolen item database, a cop will show up and take it. Once it's processed as evidence, it gets returned to the proper owner. A victim DOES NOT have to pay a single cent to buy back his stuff.

The store does not get reimbursed. Either the store takes the hit, or it comes out of the clerk's paycheck -- their fault for not asking for a paper trail.

  • i used to hang out in pawn shops to find good deals, most things arent stolen shops but stolen items do go through the pawn shops. if it's an item that the pawn shop owner thinks he can buy low because it's stolen and quickly and make a good profit, they definately will buy it even if they suspect it's stolen.
