  • classic minds...............:-)

  • @xreddragonx its hard to see authenticity with somany copycats today

  • @tillie1961 Oh you're full of it man. I don't think you know what a poser is, either. This is Simple Minds at their most authentic.

  • SIMPLE MINDS HAS ROCKED THE STAGES FOR SO LONG. WHO U2? i DON'T EVENT PLAY THEIR MUSIC, SIMPLE MINDS ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

  • Why do we have to compare Simple Minds to U2 at all? Im not from the UK so maybe Im missing something. To me they sound very individual and I wound not compare either group to any other bands!

  • Personally, I prefer Simple Minds earlier albums over U2's. Although I can't put a knats cock between 'New Gold Dream' and 'WAR'. They're both works of genius.

  • The only thing that U2 and Simple Minds have in common is that they both went stadium in 1985. And truth be told it worked out better for U2 in the end. U2 were able to build on their success and innovated and moved with the times. Simple Minds lost all their chemistry after Derek Forbes left and were unable to write anything that didn't sound corny. Also. Simple Minds had an Art Rock background whereas U2 were baptised in Punk and The Edge understood the Blues.

  • "Evolved..., to eventually become a really good rock band".WHAT???1979 -1984 SM were the best and coolest band in history. Thereafter they turned into Jim Kerr & Co and a boooooooooooooooooooring stadium act with heavy american rock influences. "Scotland's answer to U2"??? If anything, U2 were Ireland's answer to SM...please....

  • Jim Kerr in his poser days. Its amazing how much the band evolved over the years, to eventually become a really good rock band. At one time I thought they were Scotland's answer to u2. Would still be interested to see what they could come up with now.

  • Jim said they were a bag of bones then. Amazing how that can change
