"Ventura Highway" was released November 4, 1972 by the rock n' roll band America, from their album "Homecoming".
The song peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top 40 pop charts where it spent a total of nine weeks on that chart.
In my opinion, this rock band was absolutely genius at putting together haunting yet beautiful guitar tunes, which is certainly the hook of this classic song.

I heard this song yesterday as I was getting on the Blue Ridge Pkwy driving home from work...started crying as it has always been my favorite "road song" and as a SoCal native who now lives in VA, it made me a little homesick. I love the way you've captured the essence of the West Coast and brought back so many memories of the 44 years I lived there. Thank you =)

@rosanadanaful You're very welcome, and thank you for your comment. I actually went on a little road trip right after I posted this video lol. I couldn't resist. I lived in Long Beach and Oceanside for about two years. I know that doesn't compare at all to 44 years, but I do miss it sometimes. The weather was perfect with so many things to do.
