This is a short film showing Sir Terry Wogan receiving and responding to the award of an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Laws) from the University of Leicester.

Sir Michael Terence Wogan was born in Limerick, Ireland, on 3rd August 1938. He has been the presenter of innumerable TV and Radio shows, and winner of many awards. He is also the writer of numerous books. Terry Wogan has presented 'Children in Need' since its inception in 1980, and helped to raise over half a billion pounds for the charity.

He was created an Honorary OBE by her Majesty and received an Honorary Knighthood, KBE, as well as a Knighthood in Ordinary. He holds an Honorary Doctorate of Literature from Limerick University and is a Freeman of the City of Limerick, Ireland, and Freeman of the City of London.
