For more information about this video, visit http://www.psychotherapy.net. Watch Dr. Irvin Yalom consult on cases from three therapists. Dr. Yalom responds to both the clinical issues and the therapists' reactions, always looking for opportunities to bring more focus into the here-and-now of the therapeutic relationship, and highlighting key existential themes.
Dr. Yalom, please consider that some people could recover if you study life instead of death.

@gackteen I think he holds enough eye contact. The problem is that you don't know exactly when the other person is sitting behind the camera. You should also take into account the fact that there are probably two or three other ppl in that room, incl camera man, sound technician, etc, and that he is not treating a patient but supervising. Concerning his approach, I don't believe that youtube is the right place to find such resources. Try findings his books on google.

@gackteen- they are not his clients, these are case consultations. Yalom's approach is Existential, there's plenty on it if you google it

hmm... he really doesn't like to hold eye contact. i think that would throw me off as a client, how can i be comfortable enough to open up to my cousellor / psychologist if he doesn't appear confortable enough to look me in the eye when he's talking to me.
what's Yaloms psychotherapy approach ? i can't find anybody on youtube who explains existential psychotherapy... hermm
