You say you're not satisfied, you say you want more? We spent a second say at Millis watching BCLR 1705 switch out aggregate cars at the GAF shingle plant. Later, we caught the engine backing a cut of cars to the CSX interchange in Medfield.

  • You know, one funny thing is, when your looking at train tracks from say a normal level when your standing on them, they look straight. But when you start looking more ground level and from a distance, they look bumpy and zigg-zaggy... this video proves it! NICE!!!

  • This branch certainly does...I don't think a dime has gone into maintenance for years. Notice that the ties are mostly sunken into the ground - no ballast. It's a wonder that anything stays on the rails...

  • nice video! where is this?

  • Millis, Massachusetts.

  • those tracks were used by the new haven and cliquot club way back when

  • @rbfishcss

I believe this is right behind what was a GAF shingle manufacturing facility. GAF has since closed a few years ago and sits vacant now.

  • Amazing video though, love the environment, and the action!

  • @GedMpBasS most branch lines/industral spurs are like this. Chances are a shortline who doesn't have the overhead for maintaining tracks will spend their budget else where then putting it into maintaining tracks.

  • great vid, i'll have to come see it sometime. how many days a week does this line work?

  • wheres that loco now?

  • Wow i cant believe it, i know where that loco is currently now!

  • Nice the spot on the yard in Mass!

Great video, Add-Favorite, and 5 rate!!!!

  • reminds me of albemarle, NC

  • Nope, this is the end of the line, It's been a rollercoaster for many many years, I do remember work being done on the line, but that was 25 years ago.
