During construction of Jalopy Cabin's Ski Hut, we took photos each day after working on it and then compiled them into a short "time lapse" to show how the cabin was built.

The logs were fallen timber from our local ski area slopes and all other wood used in the cabin is reclaimed or salvaged. The door was orange at one time and we gave it new life with some new paint. As for the windows, they were someone else's "mistakes" that we were able to buy for almost less than half price of new windows!

This Ski Hut is for sale and you can view more photos of it at www.jalopycabins.com

  • So, the fastest way to build a small cabin is to bring wood to your location, and take pictures while ghosts build it?

  • Any bets their design was Lincoln Log inspired?

  • Thanks for the helpful video asshole.

  • I really like the music...

  • @smockrun Any bets that Lincoln Logs were inspired by ACTUAL log cabins?

    derp

  • Dang, you make it look so easy! But now, seriously, how do you stabilize the cut ends at the window openings and doorway? And framing the door-windows? And a Ski-Hut, where? My brother has property near Mt. Shasta in N. Calif and I may buy something there this summer and like to build a log home, just a small one for myself, no family or anything. 1 big room, loft for sleeping. Most available timber is pine or fir. Bro' and I have saws and stuff.

  • rather use aluminum sheeting, metal tubes and T connectors

  • All you need is a montage and voila! Cabin is done!

.....even Rocky had a montage! (Team America music plays)

  • My eyes hurt and my ears hurt. I have two owies.

  • crap
