there's no best dude, but I will agree with you that lyte is a "beast" :)
rage has a tough gangsta style which I happen to like, MC Lyte is more oldschool flavor

if lyte didnt do what she did and lot of these so call MCs wouldnt step out like they do now...Heather B, Sweet Tee, Roxanne Shante, Rah Digga, Lyte...I am a old head I like the Female MCs cause aint nothing worse getting clowned by a lady when you battling....Shante got eat...Remember Steady Effin by Lyte with KRS one on the hook...then of cause the 10% Dis and others Lyte was battle tested...Rage is what BOSS should have been when she came out...Heather B...rocked with KRS and MOP...
