  • No it's "thorn" pawn. See his recent Blitz videos.. He explicitly spells it.

  • Bob also hand wrote Fischers famous red binder of all known Spassky games (which served as a database back then). Fischer never let out of his sight during the 1974 match. Poor Bob unfortunately had his hard work sent back to him with a short note from Fischer calling him an idiot because he hadnt written the notation to Fischers preferred specification.

    Most people would have been outraged, Bob simply went back to his desk and started from scratch! RIP

  • I think it's "foreign pawn", as in a pawn deep within enemy territory, disrupting their plans and/or leading to attacking possibilities.
