I like Marantz and Rotel and this and that. But not all this new crap. I love the straight stereo old school stuff. Pure bulletproof power without all the bs!! Put on a cd, sit in your well positioned chair, and enjoy!!

I really don't know that about amperage, but you can easy calculate that from ohm law . But i only know that marantz hi- fi components are really go down with quality last couple of years, they have their own marantz standards and that's ok. But if you look that all their stuff made in china you will see the reason of such bad quality. I was looking some Krell stuff, i think that was 600e power amp and when i saw that amp.... i just.... wow. That was a quality, and yes mad in USA

@BRANKO27 Yeah, you're right. I meant the xxx4 series. Anyway,what is the amperage Marantz uses on this receiver? I know H/K specifies its high instantaneous current on each model..

Wrong. Only series xxx4 have issues. The maranz sr 5004 have that famous problem with hdmi and yes failure is more then 47%, a way more.

This one has a 47 percent failure rate. Google : "Marantz pop of death" The HDMI shorts it out, it goes into protection mode and won't come back on. This and the 7003 I believe. Too bad. I have a Marantz SR 5300, since '02 and it worked flawlessly. Sad to see Marantz has poor quality control now, like Harman Kardon.
