the old 262 v8 had 3.67in bore the 305 has a 3.76 in bore

im not a fan of running a 305 when 350's are so cheap but like chevymonster203 said not bad if you have forced induction and this one looks great with the camera coulda handled the sound though

@Chevymonster203 Best bet is to get a set of aluminum heads with 1.94 valves and either you port them or a professional and run a 177 series at 10psi with a set of Eagle SIR i-beam rods and a set of either hypertectic or forged 9 to 1 pistons. Get a good circle cam and run on 93 octane, remember to stud the block and the heads or you will run into warped heads and split crankshaft. You can run the stock cast crank as long as you prep it right and don't run more than 500hp.

@TheChoisington1 Most people would say it is stupid because the 305 has a 3.67 inch bore which makes it hard to unshroud the valves. Meaning it makes it hard for the air to enter because the biggest intake valve you can use is a 1.94 inch. But with a forced induction it's not as much of an issue, the big part is porting and polishing the exhaust side to allow the gasses to escape quicker. With a typical 177 series Weiand supercharger with a 750 carb you can make about 425hp at 10 psi.

ok dude I have a small block 305 in my 77 camaro and was wondering if it was actualy worth the money to put a supercharger on it. How much horse power did it put out and how much was it for just the supercharger?
