Excellent Southeast Alaska Salmon Fishing, when the bite is on lines are popping. I copied this from a ten year old vcr tape; quality is not the best but it is YT fun. Toward the end Bill reels in a nice fat shiny king salmon. The others included a smaller king, several silvers and some pinks. Includes a few clips of a pod of whales. We all went fishing (us, the whales and the salmon) in this spot, because this is where large schools of herring gather in a tidal current.
We were trolling, with 8 or 10 pound downriggers, at 35 to 60 feet, in 250 feet of water, using a silver flasher, herring strip (filet) and small red hoochie lure on 30lb mono line; with my superb ugly stick rods it was a good time for friends to come fishing in Alaska. The Salmon see the flasher (thinking it is the sun shining on the side of another feeding salmon), come to investigate; then they see the bait and think it is an easy meal the other salmon (flasher) left behind - half a herring - and WHAMMO!

  • wow you threw one back huh! your some real conservationalists

  • @fisheye009 would you prefer that i eat carrots?

  • @floydstinkyboy yes i would prefer you eat carrots, however i see that you have some rediculous need to kill everything, how about killing three then releasing 18. u wont have to eat carrots and we will have fish left for my grandchildren to eventually catch! do u fish because you enjoy fishing? or do ou fish because your poor and cant afford groceries?

  • @fisheye009 i see you have some ridiculous need to be an agri-biz sheeple. where do your groceries come from homer? i think i will pass on those GMO hormone-filled pesticide-laced monoculture carrots flown here by jet from california, or chile. and stick with pure organic wholesome locally grown natural food. we ate every bit of those fish, so mind your own business, and stop ruining my planet with your bozo-ness..

  • Great catch but the anti-fishing, anti-nature, anti-the great outdoors brigade have botted you once again. Saddos. Why do they have a problem with this? Didn't Jesus go fishing or something?

  • mung, methinks it is a carrot chomper, an ALF flavored tasty critter.

  • To those anti-fishing, anti- hunting folks against animal cruelty, I can say that most of us who do enjoy fishing and game hunting are as well. If you have ears to hear, there is information on line explaining game and fish management via hunting and fishing. I've always had pets (dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds) & if some dipwad hurt any of them that person would have a very bad day.So I can understand the basic concern that you have. But if u r half as open-minded as you claim then listen

  • @fisheye009 your a dick head

  • Great, super. Loved it. Thanks for putting it up.

    Some good eats there.

  • The ALF? You have them in the States too? In England they actually dug up the remains of someone's poor deceased mother and held them ransom just to make the point that they disagreed with their business. They are worse than the fundies. Don't let the bots get you down.

  • And I will try to upload something more interesting than Drum circle Shaving :)
