My violin came without a shoulder rest and I'm a begginner and you don't really need a chin rest. :P

A shoulder rest is not necessary but for comfort purpose, I guess it works XD That is...in my opinion.

how would this help on my electric? it's a bit heavy (to me)and it takes all my jaw lowering power to hold. im a beginner.
