what color were these older waste kings? that's too bad that the company was bought out by anaheim. i hate the way anaheims sound. even the ones that are "sound insulated" sound horrible. i'm glad we never had anaheims. my Godparents had a really old sinkmaster that scared the hell out of me when i was a small kid HAHA!

I have a waste king ss30 that came with my apartment. It has the smallest motor I've ever seen, but it's by far the best residential disposer I've ever used. If I ever have to pick out another disposer, it will probably be a waste king.

Have you ever heard of the " if you don't run water it will burn the motor out " is that true or is it just bullshit

I have never heard that, but it makes sense. The disposer's motor does not have a cooling fan, so the water in the upper half would serve to keep the housing cool, and therefore the motor as well.

Are potato peelings bad? I've heard they clog the plumbing?

nope, they will not clog the drain if there is good water flow, and the disposer is 1/2 way decent...
