On March 6, 2010 a funeral service was held for 17 year old Alisha Neely Ms. Neely was the victim of a shooting in north Minneapolis outside of a party. With all respect to her family I use this video as a symbol of what has happened in North Minneapolis to the community, schools, Minneapolis Urban League, Politicians, and the neighborhoods.

The Death of North Minneapolis, sponsored by Poverty-Pimps and Politicians.

  • Call the Minneapolis Urban League at (612) 302-3100 and tell them the following: "We demand the removal of President R. Scott Gray due to a vote of no confidence. He and the MUL have not addressed the issues of the Black community. We also ask for the removal of the President of the Minneapolis NAACP. We as a community expect these resignations no later than March 30, 2010."

  • I have put a message on the video to block Ms. Neeley. Please listen closely so all 1000 people that viewed this video can have a town hall meeting about north Minneapolis. We need to make sure that all young people have jobs and a future. Our current spokesperson only care about a check!

  • I will take this video down if someone will call the Minneapolis Urban League and ask it's president/ceo R. Scott Gray, "Why he did not have a press conference about Ms. Neeley's death. Furthermore, why hasn't the Minneapolis Urban League made any official statements about the recent police brutality and murders in the last year. If one of you can get Mr. Gray to answer, call a press conference of comment here, I will take this video down.

  • The mainstream media in Minneapolis has showed negative images of Black people for many years. If those of you upset about this video had of stepped up and complained every time channel 4, 5, or 11 - and the Star Tribune showed Blacks in Minneapolis as criminals, we would have control or how White Minnesota see's us. This young woman's death should have never happened. Or self-appointed "spokespersons" don't care about the youth in North Minneapolis, they just want their pockets lined with cash.

  • This video will not be taken down. This woman will not be forgotten about like the others. Rather than attacking me, go attack the Minneapolis Public Schools, the Minneapolis Urban League, Stairstep Foundation, African American Men Project and others who say they care about our youth in North Minneapolis but NONE OF THEM SHOWED UP AT "LeLe's" Fuineral.

  • No disrespect is meant to the family. I play less than 2 minutes on this video for a news story. No one contacted WCCO to tell them to take down their tape. They have more than 1 hour of video footage.

  • R.I. P that was a wrongful death

  • I sent Mr. Gray a message this morning asking that they address these issues.

  • I just want you to know that we do care. My daughter is writing a paper about racism in the media right now, and is using this case as an example. Once again I thank you for covering her face at least. I still think there would be a better form for this conversation. I will comply with your wishes and call the Urban League today!
