One of the best action movies ever?

@Glassman454 Movies did not change by accident. Movies are always a reflection of what is happening in the real world politically and / or socially. This was true in the 60's -70 - 80 - 90's and it is true today.

@silverberetta17 I don't think so. In fact, Enemy of the states was precursor of the modern action movies: government conspiracy stuff... Like all these Jason Bourne movies, or these tv shows like 24, the shield. Its totally the same thing. Action movies were really different (and better in my opinion) in the 80s, with actors like Bruce Willis, Stallone, Schwarzy and director like Mctiernan, Cameron, Carpenter... Time has changed.

This movie is way ahead of its time. Too bad the things in this movie became real. Nobody tried to stop it. One day that will change. Pre 9/11 conspiracy stuff. I was amazed just amazed when I saw the year on this movie. 1998. Yes you heard me 1998. That's amazing prediction. It feels like it came out yesterday.

Gene Hackman makes any movie he's in! Even if the story and supporting characters sucks he still manages to hold it togather. He is truly a dying breed of actors.
