I was in 3rd grade and still look at my neighbors and me standing on our front lawn in Aurora Gardens in this wet, fun mess, quickly melting. A few years later, as a teenager, I remember a heavier fall in late December, New Years Eve eve! Missed the heavier one in 2008 because I'm a Californian, enjoying the near-perfect climate here and occasionally braving Southern humidity.

Awsome home film! I was a year old babe when this snow fell and our family went to Audubon Park to play in it. We only have still photos of this snow and all of us in the park.

Maybe this is why I was born on December 22, 1958.

I was a senior in dental school at Loyola U. It was amazing to see snow falling in NOLA. They shut school down early and I went home to my rooming house on Calhoun and had a great snowball fight in front. Someone threw one and knocked the antenna off my 55 Ford. On the news they showed that streetcars on Canal St. stopped and the people got out and had snowball fights. Best of all it gave a beautiful look to the already beautiful Crescent. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks for sharing your film. I remember that day so well. Walked to work a few blocks from home in the snow as the light flurries were just beginning. I was trying to remember the exact date in Feb. of 1958 and went on line to check. Came across this film on YouTube, so thanks to your video I now have it. Great footage for those days. Thanks again.
